You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. (Psalm 139:1,2,4)

The Psalmist paints a poetic picture of how perfectly God knows you. He perceives your thoughts before you think, and He knows your words before you speak. Be not fearful of His keen knowledge, for He sees you through eyes of love and grace. God is for you and not against you. His thoughts of you are filled with adoration and delight.

God created you to have a Father-child relationship with Him. He wants you to talk to Him, rely on Him, and ask for His help and guidance. He knows your weaknesses, and He still loves you. Like a loving parent, He will correct you if you sin or stray. His chastisement is for your good and is a token of His deep love for you.

God is love, and only He can love you perfectly. (1 John 4:16) Unlike human love, God's love is not dependent on circumstances or conditions. Human love is frail and can fail; God's love is unfailing and everlasting. His love is not based on fleeting emotions but is constant and reliable. You cannot earn His love or buy it. There is nothing you can do to make Him stop loving you. His love for you is unconditional.

Comprehending God's love is difficult for most Christians. His great love is so high and divine that it is hard to grasp. When you embrace His love, you no longer view Him as an angry judge but a loving Father, who cares for you. The Father expressed His love by giving you the greatest gift of all, His beloved Son. The greatest sacrifice ever made, Jesus Christ gave His life so you can live forever.

Father, thank you for demonstrating through Jesus the most beautiful expression of love imaginable. In Jesus' name. Amen.
