But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:33-34)

The Holy Spirit reigned me in this morning. With a firm tug on the reigns to my heart, he said Whoa! He wanted me to stop senseless worrying. A large stop sign flashed across my mind. I got the message; like a horse that submits to a caring master's commands, I must submit to God and trust him to provide and lead.

Pam... Whoa!

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (Matthew 6:31-32)

The Lord makes his instructions perfectly clear. I should not worry about anything that I need; he knows about all of my material needs. More importantly, as Creator, he knows about my spiritual and emotional needs. He is a compassionate Father; I can always trust him to take good care of me.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I need your help to overcome anxiety. I place my cares at the foot of the cross and trust in you to meet all of my needs. In Jesus name. Amen.
