Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)

I believe God wants us to be specific when we pray; don’t you? I have used written prayer lists for over forty years. As an incentive to pray, most churches circulate prayer lists on Sunday mornings and during Wednesday night prayer meeting services. It is evident that prayer requests for sick family members and friends are predominant. We have compassion for those who are afflicted and suffering.

Because we care… we pray for their healing, strength and comfort.

Our Creator God gave us body mind and soul. He wants us to be whole, complete. Yes, he wants us to prosper, to thrive. Think of someone who enjoys gardening. They plant flower gardens and shrubs for landscaping beauty. In addition, they have potted plants inside their homes. Gardeners want their plants to flourish and they become concerned if their plants begin to wilt.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)

Father , I ask you to release your healing power into the lives of sick family members and friends. Make your presence and purpose known. In Jesus name. Amen.
